EVANGELIST ANGELA PRUITT,

IYD CHAIRLADY

Evangelist Angela E. Pruitt accepted Jesus Christ into her life as her personal Lord and Savior at an early age
(about 7-years-old in the family room of the McLaurin home) led by Pastor Mable Susin Iola Barber. She was
filled with the Holy Spirit during her early teens. Evangelist Pruitt is the daughter of Bishop Chester and Pastor
Rosalyn McLaurin. She is a faithful member at the church where her parents pastor Emmanuel Bible Center
United Church of God in Christ (UCOGIC). She was blessed to be wed to the love of her life, Elder Tony Pruitt
on June 9, 2018.


Evangelist Pruitt matriculated at Northern Illinois University where she majored in Human and Family Resources
with an emphasis in Family Social Services. During her time there she attended Judson Fellowship where she
served as secretary, treasurer and assistant to the minister. After graduating with her Bachelors of Science degree she continued her studies at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Evangelist Pruitt joined Crossroads Campus Church in Urbana, Illinois under the watch care of Pastor Dave Short. At Crossroads, she worked closely with her pastor and his wife and served as a small group pastor, women’s ministry pastor, nursery coordinator, etc. In 1997, she graduated and received her Master of Social Work degree. During Evangelist Pruitt’s time in Urbana-Champaign, she accepted her call to the ministry and was licensed and ordained as a missionary at Emmanuel Bible Center in 1995.


In 1999, the Lord called Evangelist Pruitt to the office of evangelist. She accepted the call and was licensed in
October of 1999 and ordained on April 8, 2000.


Currently, Evangelist Pruitt works as a school social worker in the south suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. She also
works diligently at her church, Emmanuel Bible Center U.C.O.G.I.C., where she serves in several capacities
including but not limited to Pastor’s Intern, Chairperson of the Armorbearer/Adjutant Ministry, Shepherd’s Love
and Care Co-Chairperson, Children and Teen Sunday School Teacher and Women of Wisdom secretary and
treasurer. Evangelist Pruitt was appointed to several positions in the Wisconsin Jurisdiction on July 31, 2011,
including Youth President, Interim Secretary and Finance Ministry of the Wisconsin First Women’s Department,
and Episcopal Female Adjutant Chairperson. On July 20, 2018, Evangelist Pruitt was appointed to the office of
Chairlady, International Youth Department of the United Churches of God in Christ, Inc.


In addition to working at her church, Evangelist Pruitt is also involved in Youth Unshackled Ministries (YUM),
a youth-focused organization under the leadership of Evangelist Dianna O. Amacker, where she serves on the
executive board of directors. She is also a member of Elogeme Adolphi Christian Sorority, Inc. (EA). She was
inducted into EA on April 11, 1992 and worked with a team to establish two chapters: Northern Illinois University
- Great Waters Chapter (1992) and University of Illinois - Berakah Chapter (1993).


Evangelist Pruitt has been called not only to the city of Chicago but to the world. Her first missionary journey
was to Nairobi, Kenya - East Africa with Campus Crusade for Christ. The second missionary trip took place in
January 2011 where she travelled to Cape Town and Johannesburg South Africa, with Bishop Aaron B. Lackey
Sr., and the UCOGIC delegation.


Mission Statement: To enhance the quality of life for all people spiritually, emotionally, socially and financially
by teaching, preaching and counseling using the Word of God as the foundation.
